Take care of your collagen and stimulate its production with algae!

First, why collagen and skin?
Important reminder: Collagen is an essential protein for skin health. It acts as a natural framework for the skin. It gives it structure, tone, and elasticity . Clearly, less collagen = looser skin. It also helps maintain a healthy skin barrier , which allows the skin to retain water and therefore be better hydrated.
And... with age, our natural production of collagen decreases (from the age of 25... yet it's not old...), which will cause the appearance of wrinkles , fine lines , and sagging of the skin
Can we protect them and even stimulate their production with algae? Yes!
Algae help stimulate natural collagen production, indirectly or partially directly, depending on the type of algae and the active ingredient developed, and protect your existing collagen.
How do they stimulate your collagen production?
Algae provide the nutrients necessary for synthesis, particularly brown and green algae, which are very rich in vitamin C, an essential cofactor for the production of collagen, in amino acids, the basic building blocks of collagen, and finally in minerals (zinc, copper, silicon), which are involved in the synthesis of structural proteins in the skin.
Certain algae extracts (such as Wakame, Codium or Chondrus crispus) activate and stimulate fibroblasts, those are your small cells responsible for producing collagen.
Finally, they protect your existing collagen
Algae such as Fucus (via active ingredients such as Oléphicol®) contain powerful antioxidants (marine polyphenols, carotenoids) which will neutralize free radicals and inhibit collagen-destroying enzymes.
Three examples with three algae developed in our treatments:
- The active ingredient developed from wakame , Wakapamp : an excellent anti-aging active ingredient if you are looking to firm, plump and stimulate collagen production. It will be very often used in care for mature skin and in the prevention of sagging skin. It acts directly by stimulating the production of collagen in the dermis and it improves the structure of the extracellular matrix. Wakapamp® is found in our Absolute Oil .
- Unlike the direct stimulator Wakapamp, the active ingredient Olephycol, developed from Fucus algae, acts primarily as a protector. It preserves existing collagen, slows its degradation, and reduces inflammation that hinders natural collagen production.
We find Olephycol in our Absolute Oil .
- Codiavelane, an active ingredient developed from the codium algae, also does not act as a direct collagen stimulant but creates the ideal conditions for the skin to better produce its own collagen and protects the one already present against external aggressions (UV rays, oxidative stress and dehydration). It will also hydrate the extracellular matrix, an essential element for the structure of collagen. Codiavelane is found in our Intense Face Cream .
So, yes, collagen is essential for the good health and tone of your skin. With algae, you'll find natural solutions to protect it and stimulate its production.
Finally, an essential piece of advice: it's summer right now, so don't overexpose yourself to the sun and protect yourself! UV rays are a scourge; they destroy your collagen.
Atlanticly, take care of your skin with algae, and let's take care of the oceans together
