AURORE TOULOT
Soul of the Sea

Respect for the life of cetaceans for future generations
Aurore had an early attraction for the Ocean, its immensities. She quickly became involved in marine biology, through her studies in Brest. After having been a scientific guide, she continued her research on the impact of chemical pollution on cetaceans and the stranding of marine mammals. After her studies, her experience in French Polynesia motivated her to get involved in associations. Back in France, with her experience, she identified a need for awareness and information on the cetaceans of the southwest coast. this is the birth of his association Itsas Arima. It aims to fill this lack of knowledge by studying the animals of the region, particularly in the Gouf de Capbreton. Cetaceans are relevant bioindicators of the marine environment, allowing us to understand environmental changes. Their mission includes studying animal behavior, raising public awareness and promoting sustainable consumption of seafood to protect marine life. Its objectives are centered on learning, understanding and sharing knowledge. They revolve around the study of cetaceans, the analysis of strandings to understand the reasons for these incidents and public education for better knowledge and protection of the marine environment. Aurore highlights the impact of overfishing on cetaceans and encourages food choices that are more respectful of the ocean and its resources, for future generations.
